Tinubu swears in 3 new ministers at second FEC meeting
President Bola Tinubu presided over his second Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting and administered the oath of office to three newly appointed ministers in a brief ceremony held at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja. The swearing-in marked the second FEC meeting during Tinubu’s administration.
These new ministers, Jamila Ibrahim (Kwara State), Balarabe Lawal (Kaduna State), and Ayodele Olawande (Ondo State), were screened on October 4 and officially sworn in by President Tinubu. They will join the existing 45 ministers who were approved by the Red Chamber in August.

The assigned portfolios for the new ministers are as follows: Jamila Bio-Ibrahim as Minister of Youths, Ayodele Olawande as Minister of State Youth, and Balarabe Lawal as Minister of Environment.
This FEC meeting, held on Monday, marked the second such gathering since Tinubu’s inauguration as President on May 29, following a 48-day hiatus. The Senate screened and confirmed the three additional ministers on October 4, in response to a letter from President Tinubu.
On August 21, President Tinubu had previously sworn in and inaugurated the initial 45 ministers who participated in the maiden cabinet meeting, emphasizing the need for hard work, as the expectations of Nigerians were high and underperformance would not be tolerated.
