Zamfara varsity advises students to relocate from insecured off-campus residences

In response to heightened insecurity, Federal University, Gusau, has issued a warning to students residing off-campus in the outskirts of Gusau.

The university has urged these students to consider relocating to the more secure areas of Gusau metropolis or Sabon Gida, where armed security personnel are stationed.

This advisory comes on the heels of the recent kidnapping incident that occurred on Saturday, involving four students from their off-campus residence in Damba.

Fortunately, all four students have been rescued by the efforts of Operation Hadarin Daji and Metro Joint Patrol (Eagle Eye) troops.

According to Malam Umar Usman, the university’s Information Officer, students living in areas like Damba, on the outskirts of Gusau, are at higher risk of bandit attacks.

This caution is especially pertinent after the abduction of 25 students and nine construction workers on September 21, with twelve of the victims still in captivity.
