Nasrallah Asserts: Hamas’ October assault ‘entirely Palestinian,’ warns of broader conflict

Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, addressing the public for the first time since the Israel-Hamas conflict began, asserted that the operation initiated by the Hamas militant group on October 7 was unequivocally ‘100 per cent Palestinian’ in its execution, according to Reuters.

Hezbollah, a potent military force with support from Iran, has been engaged in confrontations with Israeli forces along the Lebanon-Israel border, marking the most intense escalation since the 2006 war between the two parties.

Speaking via video link on a large screen in Beirut, Nasrallah expressed gratitude towards groups in Yemen and Iraq, forming what is known as the “axis of resistance.”

This coalition includes Shiite Muslim Iraqi militias involved in conflicts with US forces in Syria and Iraq, as well as Yemen’s Houthi rebels, who have joined the fray by deploying drones against Israel.

Nasrallah cautioned that a broader conflict in the Middle East could materialize, contingent on the unfolding events in the Gaza Strip.

He emphasized the significance of the developments along the border, highlighting their far-reaching implications.

The Hezbollah leader contended that the October 7 operation had a seismic impact on Israel and laid bare the vulnerabilities of the country.

He criticized Israel’s current approach in its conflict with Hamas, asserting that it is pursuing objectives that are beyond its reach.
