Gunmen in Zamfara strike Gada community, kill 7, abduct others
Suspected bandits unleashed terror in Gada community, Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, resulting in several casualties and the abduction of numerous individuals.
In a harrowing account, villager Ibrahim Musa, revealed that the assailants, armed with sophisticated weapons, descended upon the village on motorcycles, indiscriminately firing at residents around 6 pm on Saturday.

Musa recounted, “The bandits, armed with sophisticated weapons, arrived on motorcycles in significant numbers and began shooting indiscriminately at the villagers. We lost seven people in this heinous operation, with scores being kidnapped.”
Notably, the attack unfolded just a day after the governor’s departure for Imo State, where he led the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) team for the governorship election.
Expressing urgency, Musa called upon the federal government to intervene swiftly, emphasizing the perilous situation in Zamfara State.
He stated, “No one in the state is safe, and we implore the federal government to deploy more security personnel to Zamfara State to curb the persistent activities of the notorious bandits.”
Neptune Prime reports that efforts to obtain a statement from the state police command spokesperson, ASP Yazid Abubakar, were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
