Military vows to eliminate terrorists responsible for attack on Yobe State Governor’s convoy
The Defense Headquarters has confirmed that the search for the terrorists who attacked the convoy of Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, is ongoing, and the military remains determined to apprehend the assailants.
The attack took place as the convoy was traveling from Maiduguri to Damaturu on Saturday. Notably, Governor Buni was not present, but high-ranking government officials, including the Secretary to the Yobe State Government and the Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, were part of the convoy.

During the attack, a policeman lost his life, and several others, including a soldier, sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Specialist Hospital in Damaturu. The deceased policeman has been deposited in the hospital’s mortuary, and the affected vehicles have been safely recovered to the military camp at Benisheikh.
The Director of Defense Military Operation, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, asserted that the military is resolute in its pursuit of the terrorists responsible for the attack. When questioned for an update, he stated that the hunt is ongoing and reiterated the military’s commitment to flushing out the perpetrators.

The Defense Headquarters underscored that the expedited efforts are geared towards ensuring the safety and security of the region, and they remain dedicated to bringing those responsible for the attack to justice.
The hunt for the assailants remains a top priority, and the military reassures the public that the terrorists will be apprehended in due course.
