Missing boy in Ogun State found dead with no eyes, severed wrists

The remains of 12-year-old John Soyinka, who had been reported missing, were reportedly discovered in the Kotogbo community within Asero Estate, Abeokuta. Tragically, some of his body parts were found to be missing.

According to reports, Soyinka had been declared missing about a week ago, and the incident was brought to the attention of the Obantoko Police Station in Abeokuta.

A source from the area, speaking on the condition of anonymity, disclosed that the boy vanished after attempting to follow up on a customer who had previously conducted a PoS transaction in a shop where Soyinka typically assisted.

“I know the boy very well; he is about 12 years old and lived with his mother, who I assume is no longer with her husband. His mother is engaged in menial jobs like aiding people in sweeping and other tasks,” the source said.

The distressing discovery has left residents in mourning, with suspicions pointing to the possibility of ritualistic intentions due to the boy’s eyes being taken and his wrists severed.

Upon reaching out for comment, the spokesperson for the state police command, SP Omolola Odutola, informed that she would verify the situation and revert to correspondents.
