Nigeria Customs football team leads with 6-1 victory in Maritime Cup 2023

In an outstanding display of football prowess, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) football team has taken a commanding lead in the Maritime Cup 2023.

The NCS team, led by Superintendent of Customs Peter Tangulu, delivered a stunning 6-1 victory against Blueche Lomado on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, in Lagos. This resounding win not only secured their spot in the quarter-finals but also reaffirmed their reputation as a dominant force in Nigerian football.

A press release from Akinwale Fatoki, the Superintendent of Customs and PRO of the Nigerian Customs Command and Staff College, detailed the remarkable performance. Superintendent of Customs Peter Tangulu opened the scoring with a brilliant goal in the 15th minute, later sealing the game with another goal. The momentum continued as Assistant Superintendent of Customs I, Bamidele Omodara, netted a goal in the 48th minute. Assistant Superintendent of Customs II, Munkiala Abubakar, and SC Buhari Sani added to the tally with goals in the 56th and 68th minutes, respectively.

This victory not only underscores the NCS’s football excellence but also secures their place in the Maritime Cup quarter-finals. The NCS team had previously defeated the Nigerian Navy with a 1-0 score on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

The press release revealed that “the NCS team is now preparing to face Trucks Transit Park (TTP), the underdogs, on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the NPA sports ground. The upcoming match is building anticipation as the NCS aims to extend their winning streak”.

“As for the quarter-finals scheduled for Monday, November 6, 2023, the NCS team will compete against either the winner or the runner-up of Group C, promising an exciting and highly competitive match”.
