Nigerian Air Force airstrikes neutralise high-ranking Boko Haram terrorists

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reported that airstrikes conducted by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully eliminated a prominent Boko Haram figure, Abu Asad, alongside several other high-ranking terrorists in the Mandara Mountains of Borno State.

According to Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the spokesperson for the NAF, Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar commended Operation Hadin Kai and his team for their exceptional performance in neutralising the threats.

Gabkwet stated, “Over 100 heavily armed terrorists were observed moving randomly around the structures in the area, and after the air strikes were carried out, two out of the three structures and the entire troop carriers were destroyed.”

He further revealed that, “Abu Asad, a key figure in the Ali Ngulde group under Boko Haram, as well as other terrorists like Ibrahim Nakeeb, Mujaheed Dimtu, Mustafa Munzir, and several fighters, were among those eliminated in the airstrike.”

Quoting Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, Gabkwet emphasised the commitment to continue combating terrorism, stating, “We must continue to justify the trust and confidence the Federal Government and our people have bestowed on us by ensuring that we go all out in making life unbearable for these terrorists and criminals until they surrender or are completely eliminated.”
