Opposition party activist found dead days after abduction
Zimbabwe opposition activist Tapfumaneyi Masaya was tragically reported abducted by armed men, with his wife later identifying his body.
Masaya, a member of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), was campaigning for the party’s candidate in a parliamentary by-election in Harare when he was forcibly taken along with another activist, Jeffrey Kalosi.

While Kalosi was released, the circumstances of his release remain unclear.
The CCC has condemned Masaya’s abduction, which is part of a concerning trend of kidnappings involving opposition and rights activists.
These events are reminiscent of similar incidents during Robert Mugabe’s presidency.
The political landscape continues to be turbulent, with ongoing disputes and tensions raising serious concerns for the safety of activists and opposition members.
