Organ Harvesting Allegations: Noah Kekere, two others remanded in Plateau Court

The Plateau State High Court, under the authority of Justice D.G Fombing, remanded three individuals suspected of organ harvesting – Noah Kekere, Dr. Phillip Dachung, and Mr. Yusuf Abdullahi – at the Jos Correctional Centre following their arraignment by the State Director of Public Prosecutions, Barrister David Williams.

Noah Kekere was apprehended by the police for allegedly removing the right kidney of Mrs. Kehinde Kamaru during an appendix operation at his Murna Clinic and Maternity in the Yanshanu community of Jos North local government area.

In the case numbered PL/H164/2023, which involves the people of Plateau State versus Mr. Noah Kekere, Dr. Philip Dachung, and Yusuf Abdullahi, the state government levelled a four-count charge against the defendants.

They stand accused of criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, causing grievous harm, and the illegal removal, sale, and trafficking of Mrs. Kehinde Kamaru’s kidney.

These charges, according to the prosecutor, are in violation of Section 58 and punishable under Section 59 and 108 (1) of the Plateau State Penal Code Law 2017.

Upon hearing the charges, the defendants pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Judge scheduled January 18 and 19, 2024 for the substantive suit’s hearing.
