Revenue peaks as Customs seize ammo, marijuana in Rivers
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) at the Port Harcourt Court Area 11 Command handed over a pistol, 9mm ammunition, and two suspects to the Nigeria Police following an interception.
Additionally, between January and October, the command reported a revenue generation of over N246 billion.
Addressing newsmen at the command’s corporate office in Onne, Rivers, the Command’s Comptroller, Baba Imam, attributed these accomplishments to the revitalized mindset instilled through continuous training of officers.
This, along with the provision of adequate logistics and incentives to the service, contributed to their success.

Imam highlighted that officers confiscated nine containers, holding goods valued at over N1.16 billion, due to contravention of import prohibition laws.
These seizures included 724 bales of used clothing, 1,805 used tyres, four vehicles used to conceal 76.9kg of special cannabis (marijuana), and 2,070 cartons of tomato paste, among other items.
