SDP claims first polling unit in Kogi, beats APC, PDP

In a significant turn of events, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has secured a resounding victory at the Grade 1 Area Court, Ajaka Ward 07, in the Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

With an impressive tally of 111 votes, the SDP defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC), which lagged behind with a mere 5 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) failed to secure any votes.

Prior to casting his own vote at the Ajaka polling unit in IgalaMela/Odolu LGA, Muritala Ajaka, the SDP gubernatorial candidate, raised the alarm about ongoing electoral malpractices in Adavi, Okene, Okehi, and Ogori Magogo local governments.

While commending the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their commendable efforts, Ajaka urged the commission to take immediate action by summoning the officials responsible for the aforementioned LGAs, where voters have reported a shortage of result sheets.

Additionally, he highlighted that complaints regarding the ongoing elections had been duly reported to INEC and other relevant authorities, emphasizing the need for swift action.
