NDA rejects 30,000 applicants, admits only 441 cadets

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has declined applications from over 30,000 candidates aspiring to become cadets in the 75th Regular Course of this esteemed military institution.

Major General John Ochai, the NDA Commandant, revealed this information during the matriculation ceremony, where 441 cadets, including one student from The Gambia, were officially welcomed into various degree programs as part of the 75th Regular Course.

Ochai clarified that the selection of these 441 cadets was the result of a rigorous screening process, highlighting the academy’s commitment to competence and adherence to international standards.

Addressing the matriculating cadets, the commandant urged them to maintain unwavering commitment and embrace the principles of self-discipline and resilience throughout their training.

He emphasized that the academy’s training is geared towards preparing them for national defense operations.
