Iran issues chilling threat to close international waterways over Israel’s crimes in Gaza
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have issued a chilling threat to close international waterways if Israel’s crimes against Palestinians in Gaza continue.
Deputy coordinator of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Mohammad Reza Naqdi made the warning during a memorial ceremony for a former Iranian ambassador in Yemen, stating that “the United States and its allies should wait for the birth of new resistance forces in the region and the closure of the remaining waterways if the crimes of the Zionist entity persist in Gaza.”

Naqdi’s comments come as the Houthis continue to attack Israeli ships and those linked to Israel in response to the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
The escalating problem in the Red Sea has created difficulties for maritime navigation, with attacks targeting vessels linked to Israel en route to or from the Egyptian Suez Canal.
