Mr Ibu’s Family Clarifies Amputation Reports: Actor not amputated on both legs
The family of ailing actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has clarified that he was not amputated on both legs, contrary to reports.
Recall that the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Dr Emeka Rollas in a recent chat with newsmen disclosed that Mr Ibu, has undergone another leg amputation and is barely able to talk.
Reacting to the statement, the family via his Instagram page explained that Mr Ibu underwent a second amputation on the same leg that was previously amputated due to ongoing health issues.
The family clarified that Mr Ibu is not diabetic but has been suffering from constant blood clotting in his leg caused by diseased blood vessels, as well as other health challenges that pose a risk to his life.

The family also revealed that doctors have deemed Mr Ibu “not fit to fly” and he has not been flown abroad for advanced treatment.
The statement urged friends, colleagues, fans, and Nigerians at large to keep Mr Ibu in their prayers and disregard unconfirmed reports about his health.
