Nigerian player, Victor Osimhen, wins AIC Footballer Award
Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen, has been crowned Italian Footballers’ Association Footballer of the Year for his outstanding performance with Neopolitans in the previous season.
The award ceremony took place on Monday night and also featured accolades such as the team of the year, coach of the year, club of the year, and goal of the season.
Osimhen’s contribution of 26 goals played a pivotal role in helping Partenopei secure their first Scudetto in 33 years.

This remarkable achievement has earned the Nigerian player numerous award nominations, including the FIFA Best and Ballon d’Or.
Furthermore, he was selected for the Serie A team of the year alongside Mike Maignan, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Kim Min-jae, Andrea Bastoni, Theo Hernández, Stanislav Lobotka, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Nicolo Barella, Rafael Leão, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Despite facing a challenging start to the 2023-24 season and recent injury setbacks, Osimhen has maintained an impressive goals-per-game ratio, with a record of six goals from 10 matches.
