Plateau community mourns as gunmen claim 16 lives in fresh assault
Gunmen have claimed the lives of 16 people in Mushu village, located in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Captain Oya James, spokesperson for Operation Safe Haven, a multi-security task force, confirmed the incident.
Plateau Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang condemned the attack as “barbaric, brutal, and uncalled for.”
He directed security agencies to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators and urged communities to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

Following the attack, security personnel were deployed to prevent further unrest, and the situation is now under control.
The governor assured proactive measures to curb ongoing attacks on innocent citizens and expressed sympathy for affected families.
