Police begin demolition of POWA complex in Lagos
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) initiated the planned demolition of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) shopping complex situated in Ikeja, Lagos.
Four excavators arrived at the site at midnight accompanied by heavily armed police officers.
The NPF has stated that the demolition is for the benefit of all parties involved and is being carried out in good faith.

The Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, explained on Saturday that the complex, which belongs to POWA and was allocated to wives of police officers and their relatives, has been scheduled for demolition to make way for the construction of a modern shopping complex on the same land.
