Police warn candidates against fake recruitment messages

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has warned the public against false publication circulating on social media claiming to be from the commission and inviting prospective candidates for the Constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force to a physical screening on January 8, 2024, with a request to bring N2000.

The PSC disowned and distanced itself from the misleading publication, emphasising that the ongoing recruitment process, from registration to the final medical examination, is entirely free.

The commission stressed that there has been no change that would necessitate candidates bringing N2000 for the screening exercise.

The PSC expressed its intolerance for the interference of fraudsters attempting to compromise the recruitment exercise.

Prospective candidates were advised to disregard such misleading messages, as the Police Recruitment Board is actively communicating with successful candidates, providing detailed information on the requirements for the screening exercise.

Emphasising transparency, merit-based selection, and adherence to federal character principles, the PSC assured candidates that no fees would be imposed at any stage of the recruitment process.

The commission urged candidates to resist the temptation to engage in fraudulent practices and affirmed its commitment to conducting the exercise in line with international standards.

The PSC’s statement concluded with a pledge to ensure that the recruitment exercise yields candidates meeting the expectations for the ideal police force.
