President Tinubu mourns ace broadcaster Fagge, renowned educator

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences following the passing of renowned broadcaster, Kabiru Usman Fagge, who died at the age of 77 in the United States.

Fagge, a prominent figure in the Hausa-speaking community, spent 25 years working for the Hausa service of Voice of America (VOA).

In a statement released by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), Tinubu praised Fagge’s contributions to nation-building, particularly his advocacy for education through his weekly education programme.

“His desire to serve humanity through journalism started quite early from his days as a freelancer while teaching. We are grateful for his services through his chosen career and for being a good ambassador of Nigeria on such a global platform,” the President said.

The President extended his condolences to Fagge’s family, the government and people of Kano State, as well as the Nigerian journalism community.
