South-South leader Edwin Clark blasts agreement signed by Wike, Fubara after Tinubu’s intervention
South-South Leader, Edwin Clark, has voiced his disapproval of the reconciliation deal brokered by President Bola Tinubu to address the political crisis in Rivers State.
In a press conference held in Abuja, Clark described the eight-point resolution as undemocratic, dictatorial, and favoring Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike.
He also threatened legal action against the agreement, stating that it aims to hand over the political leadership of Rivers State to Wike.
The elder statesman emphasized the resolution’s one-sided nature and expressed disbelief at President Tinubu’s role as a mediator, attributing it to Wike’s past favor in delivering Rivers State in the previous presidential elections.

Neptune Prime reported earlier that after Monday’s meeting, the warring parties agreed that all matters instituted in the courts by Fubara and his team be withdrawn immediately.
Details of the agreement were signed by Fubara, Wike, Amaewhule, and other significant individuals involved in the crisis, with the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, also signing the document.
The parties resolved to recognise the leadership of Martin Amaewhule in the Rivers State House of Assembly and not that of Edison Ehie, as well as to recognise Amaewhule and his 26 allies who recently resigned from the PDP to join the APC.
Other resolutions include reinstating the remunerations and benefits of all members of the Rivers State House of Assembly and their staff, allowing the Assembly to choose where they conduct their legislative business without interference from the Executive arm of Government, and reinstating the names of commissioners who resigned due to the political crisis for approval by the House of Assembly.
