Special Adviser to late Governor Akeredolu resigns
In the aftermath of the passing of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, his Special Adviser on Union Matters, Mr Dare Aragbaiye, has tendered his resignation effective Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
In a heartfelt letter signed by Aragbaiye, he expressed his decision to step down from the position, citing the untimely death of his principal as the driving force behind his resignation.

The letter reads, “I write to refer to the subject above and to resign my appointment as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Union Matters and Special Duties with effect from today, Wednesday, December 27, 2023.”
Aragbaiye further explained that his loyalty to Governor Akeredolu endured even in death, describing him as a “tearless and honest leader.”
He acknowledged the opportunity to serve in various capacities under Akeredolu’s administration, initially as the Head of Service and later as a Special Adviser.
Expressing gratitude for the chance to contribute to the State Executive Council, Aragbaiye concluded, “Please accept the assurances of my esteemed regards.”
