Suspects sold OAU student’s head, 2 wrists for N100,000 to ritualists – Police

The police have revealed details surrounding the murder of an 18-year-old undergraduate student at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile- Ife and how his body was found dismembered and sold for ritualistic purposes.

Quadri Salami was declared missing on November 8, 2023, leading to a police report filed by his father on November 14.

After extensive investigation, detectives discovered a shallow grave on December 6 where Quadri’s remains were uncovered.

A suspect, Akeem Usman, who was found with the victim’s phone, implicated another individual, Ifadowo Niyi, revealing their involvement in the gruesome crime.

It was disclosed that the victim’s head and two wrists were sold to body parts dealers for N100,000, while other parts of his body were sold to individuals for ritualistic purposes.

The suspects confessed to using human body parts for money rituals, and the police have assured that further investigations will be carried out to bring all perpetrators to justice.
