Terrorists attack Sokoto village, burn women, children alive
Terrorists have attacked Kurya village in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Sunday night, burning one woman, her daughter-in-law and two children alive inside their home.
Yusuf Garba, a resident of the area, recounted the horrifying events, revealing that the armed men killed 12 villagers in total and abducted three women.
He said the abductees also suffered during the attack, with one losing her husband.
A fierce battle ensued between the bandits and the army, leading to suspicions that the attackers suffered heavy losses, as evidenced by bloodstains near the area where they left their motorcycles.
Though the bandits didn’t leave their corpses behind, authorities confirmed seven deaths in the attack, with the police announcing that they were still collating casualty figures.
This incident comes on the heels of a recent rescue operation in Gundumi forest, where the army liberated 66 abductees and reportedly inflicted heavy losses on the bandits.
