Turkey warns Israel against trying to target Hamas officials abroad

Turkey has cautioned Israel of “serious consequences” should it attempt to pursue Hamas members residing outside Palestinian territories, including in Turkey, stated a Turkish intelligence official on Monday.

“Necessary warnings were conveyed to the relevant parties based on statements from Israeli officials, emphasizing that such actions would lead to significant repercussions,” the official mentioned.

Israel’s public broadcaster, Kan, reported on Sunday that Israel plans to track down Hamas members in Lebanon, Turkey, and Qatar, even if it takes years. Ronen Bar, the head of Israel’s domestic security agency Shin Bet, made these remarks in a recording. The timing and the audience for Bar’s statements remain unclear.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan declared that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would be treated as a war criminal for Israel’s ongoing offensive in the Gaza Strip, labeling the Likud party leader as the “butcher of Gaza.”

During a speech at a meeting of an Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) committee in Istanbul, Erdogan asserted that Gaza is Palestinian land and will always belong to the Palestinians.

“Israel is not only a murderer but also a thief,” Erdogan stated, as reported by Turkish state media, adding, “We cannot allow Israel to occupy Gaza once again.”

Accusing Netanyahu of harboring expansionist ideals, Erdogan warned that “those who invade Gaza will seek other places tomorrow. Gaza butcher Netanyahu revealed he has expansionist ideals.”
