University chancellor fired after producing porn videos with wife

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Chancellor, Joe Gow, has been terminated by the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents following revelations about his involvement in the production and online posting of porn videos with his wife, Carmen Wilson.

The decision was made on December 27, with the Board citing Gow’s “abhorrent” conduct as causing significant reputational harm to the university.

UW President Jay Rothman stated that Gow’s actions were “wholly and undeniably inconsistent with his role as chancellor.”

The controversy began when it was exposed that Gow had previously paid a porn star to speak to students on campus.

However, it escalated when it was revealed that Gow himself was involved in the creation of explicit content, which was posted on platforms such as OnlyFans and Pornhub under the account name “Sexy Happy Couple.”

The films, some of which feature well-known adult film stars, have led to accusations of a “reckless disregard for the role he was entrusted with” by UW System Regent President Karen Walsh.

Gow will be placed on paid administrative leave as he transitions into his faculty role due to his tenured position, but a complaint has been filed to review his status as a tenured faculty member, and an outside law firm has been hired to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.

In his defense, Gow argued that he never explicitly tied his university position to the explicit videos, emphasizing that the content was produced using personal funds and fell within his right to free speech under the First Amendment.

However, he claimed that he was not contacted before the decision to fire him was made and questioned whether he was afforded due process by the Board of Regents.

Notably, Gow and his wife had recently launched a YouTube cooking channel named “Sexy Healthy Cooking,” where they invited adult film stars to cook vegan meals. The channel occasionally ended with suggestive scenes featuring Gow and his wife.
