Wike’s ally Zacchaeus Adangor resigns as Attorney General
Professor Zacchaeus Adangor has resigned as the Attorney-General (AG) and Commissioner for Justice in Rivers State.
Adangor’s resignation, dated 14th December 2023, was addressed to Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
He said his resignation was based “purely on personal decision”.

Adangor was Rivers AG for eight years under the administration of Nyesom Wike, who was governor from May 2015 to May 2023.
He noted that his exit from office was based on personal principles and not connected to the political crisis currently rocking the state.
“I hereby give Your Excellency Notice of my resignation as the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Rivers State with effect from the date of this letter
“For the avoidance of doubt, from the said office is based on personal principles,” the letter read in part.
His resignation occurred amid the ongoing political crisis rocking the state with the state assembly as the “boxing ring”.
