Bandits kill 3 out of 10 victims kidnapped from Abuja estate, increase ransom to N700 million

Kidnappers have reportedly slain three additional victims abducted from the Sagwari Layout estate in Dutse, Abuja.

The perpetrators, seeking to intensify pressure on relatives negotiating the ransom, have raised their initial demand from N60 million per person to a staggering N100 million. The total ransom now stands at a daunting N700 million.

The victims, taken from their homes on January 7, face a tragic fate due to the perceived delay in meeting the extortion demands.

Earlier, the assailants discarded the remains of four victims near a former military checkpoint in Kagarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

Among the identified casualties are a secondary school student, the daughter of the Chief Legal Officer of the National University Commission (NUC), Folorunsho Ariyo, and a 500-level student of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Nabeeha Al-kadriyar.

The unsettling development has sparked fear and confusion in the Bagye and Pashin communities at Dnatan chiefdom.

Residents are leaving in droves, prompting concerns over the government and security agencies’ perceived inaction.
