Tinubu lays wreath in commemoration of 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day

President Bola Tinubu has performed the wreath-laying ceremony in commemoration of the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day event in Abuja.

The president was joined by other dignitaries during the event, including Nigeria’s service chiefs, led by General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, as well as the heads of other security agencies.

The event, which is held annually to honour Nigeria’s fallen heroes, also included gun salutes, prayers, and the release of pigeons at the National Arcade in Eagle Square, Abuja.

Members of the diplomatic corps, federal executive council members, and other dignitaries were there to observe the event and applauded the fallen heroes for their sacrifices to ensure the peace and unity of Nigeria.

The wreath-laying ceremony is a circular arrangement of flowers and leaves placed on a grave or next to a statue to signify respect and adoration for the memory of a deceased person or individuals.
