Aviation Minister orders relocation of FAAN headquarters from Abuja to Lagos

The Nigerian government has approved the relocation of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) from Abuja to Lagos.

A memo signed by FAAN’s managing director, Olubunmi Kuku, stated that the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, issued the directive.

The memo also highlighted that Mr. Keyamo instructed FAAN’s management to provide the implications of the relocation.

“The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development has directed that the headquarters of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) should be relocated from Abuja to Lagos.

Consequent upon the above, you are requested to provide the implication of the relocation to the management,” the memo dated January 15 read.

When approached for confirmation, the spokesperson for the minister, Tunde Moshood, responded by saying, “I’ll send you a release soon.”

This directive follows the recent relocation of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s major departments to Lagos, signaling a trend of relocations within the government.
