2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Gov. Buni lauds Nigerian fallen heroes

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has joined his counterparts in other states of the federation to perform the wreath laying in commemoration of the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day in Damaturu, Yobe State.

The Armed Forces Remembrance celebration took place at the event centre of the Government House Damaturu.

 

Governor Buni lays wreath in commemoration of the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

 

The day was set aside to honour military fallen heroes, veterans and legions who paid the supreme price and made sacrifices to ensure the peace and unity of the country.

Speaking shortly after wreath laying ceremony, Governor Buni commiserate with the families of the fallen heroes and to all Nigerians particularly those of Yobe State.

“We are able to celebrate and commemorate the fallen heroes and going forward, we expect more patriotism, nationalism to ensure that peace reigns in Yobe State as we and our relatives are enjoying peace today,” said Mai Mala Buni.

 

Governor Buni marks 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day in Government House Damaturu

 

Other top government officials in attendance include the Speaker, State House of Assembly, Chiroma Buba Mashio; the state Chief Judge, Gumna Kashim Kaigama; Emir of Fika Muhammad Abali Muhammad Ibn Idrissa; Chairman Nigeria Legion Yobe State, Ibrahim Ladi Gadine; representative of the widows of the fallen heroes and top military officials respectively.

Prayers were offered by Muslims and Christians for the fallen heroes, their families and the country as a whole.

Also the Governor released white pigeons to signify peace across the state and the nation in general.
