Customs College Gwagwalada inaugurates career-advancing courses (Pictures)

The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, inaugurated the Student Senior Course 10 and Junior Course 18 at the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC) in Gwagwalada, Abuja on January 23, 2024.

Represented by Deputy Comptroller-General Saidu Galadima, the CGC urged participants to utilise the opportunity for career enhancement and revealed ongoing discussions with Nigerian universities for postgraduate degrees.

Emphasizing the need for innovative ideas, he encouraged participants to contribute to the service’s transformation.

“I encourage you to make positive impacts and view your facilitators as role models,” remarked the CG. DCG Saidu Galadima expressed confidence in the participants’ ability to drive positive transformation and assured CGC support for capacity enhancement.

Commandant Kingsley Emeka highlighted the course as crucial for participants’ career progression, emphasizing confidence and competence in revenue generation, trade facilitation, and national security.

He outlined the tailored six-month and three-month training methods for senior and junior courses, respectively.

“The course is designed to develop your Command, leadership, and communication skills,” stated Emeka, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy for ineffectiveness and academic dishonesty. Only students demonstrating character, discipline, and learning would graduate from the College.
