Bandits disguised in military uniforms kidnap 31 Katsina villagers

Suspected bandits dressed in military uniforms have orchestrated a coordinated attack on Tashar Nagule village in the Batsari local government area of Katsina State, kidnapping 31 villagers.

Neptune Prime gathered that the assailants, who came in large numbers, masquerading as security agents, seized men, women, and children in the community.

According to a credible source in the area, the armed men infiltrated the community in military attire, creating a facade of being security agents.

They first encircled the village before deploying some of their members through the main entrance to abduct the unsuspecting villagers.

Motorcycles belonging to the assailants were left outside the community.

The source recounted the chilling events, stating that the gunmen deceived residents by claiming to be security agents sent for their protection.

The villagers, trusting the false identity presented, gathered at the village square. It was only later realised that the intruders, some clad in military camouflage, were, in fact, bandits.

Residents were directed to follow the assailants into the forest, under the false pretense of security escort. Some individuals managed to escape the group, realizing the true nature of the situation.

As of Monday morning, the count of abducted individuals reached 31. Some were taken as they fled into the bush, where additional terrorists lay in ambush.

Batsari local government area and its surroundings have experienced consistent attacks by bandits, leading many residents to flee their homes, seeking refuge in more urban centres.

At the time of this report, the Katsina State Police Command had not issued an official statement regarding the recent attack.
