SP Irene Ugbo, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed the incident but refrained from providing specific details, indicating that the occurrence transpired on Sunday.

SP Ugbo assured that measures were being taken to secure the safe release of the abducted passengers and prevent any recurrence of such incidents in the area.

A local resident, James Ese, disclosed that the three injured persons were swiftly transported to an undisclosed medical facility for urgent treatment.

Ese noted that the Akparabong junction has increasingly posed a threat to motorists and commuters over the past three weeks.

Attributing the nearly daily attacks on the road to herdsmen, Ese urged security agencies to be more proactive in addressing the situation.

“We appeal to the police to take decisive action and put an end to the frequent incidents that have been a menace to passengers in the last three weeks. The Nde 3 Corners Akparabong Junction has sadly become a site of violent activities, with over four deaths, including a young child, recorded in recent weeks,” he stated.
