JAMB announces free registration for Persons With Disabilities in 2024 UTME
The Joint Admission and Matriculations Board, has revealed that persons with disability (PLWD) who intend to take the 2024/2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can register at no cost.
The JAMB registrar, Ishaq Oloyede made this announcement during the launch of the registration process for interested candidates nationwide.
He further stated that JAMB will provide free application documents to all categories of PLWD as a means of support.
Additionally, Oloyede highlighted that special measures have been implemented to ensure a seamless exercise for all candidates.

In a progressive move, he mentioned that audio books will be made available for blind candidates, transforming the traditional reading material into accessible audio formats such as MP3, WMV, and WMA.
Moreover, Oloyede emphasised that this decision was influenced by a recommendation made at the inaugural National Conference on Equal Opportunity of Access to Higher Education in Nigeria.
The free registration offer extends to individuals with conditions like Down syndrome, Autism, Dyslexia disorder, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
As JAMB takes proactive steps to accommodate and support PLWD in the 2024/2025 UTME, they aim to ensure equal opportunities for all candidates.
