NAF airstrikes eliminates notorious Kaduna kidnapper Janari, others
The air component of the special joint military taskforce known as “Operation Whirl Punch” successfully neutralised a notorious terrorist and kidnap kingpin named “Janari” along with several members of his syndicate on Saturday.
The operation targeted individuals responsible for a series of attacks and abductions within Kaduna State and along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway.
AVM Edward Gabkwet, the spokesman for the Nigerian Air Force, revealed in Abuja on Sunday that Janari and his gang were pinpointed at a location near Gadar Katako in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The airstrikes were authorised and executed after intelligence reports indicated that the gang was amassing for a potential attack or kidnapping of vulnerable civilians.

According to Gabkwet, reconnaissance trips provided crucial information about the gang’s activities, prompting the decision to take immediate action.
The airstrikes were successful, eliminating Janari and several other terrorists and kidnappers.
The spokesperson emphasized that collaborative efforts between the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies would persist, targeting locations suspected of harboring terrorists and kidnappers.
Additionally, similar airstrikes were conducted on confirmed terrorists and kidnappers’ hideouts near Chukuba in Niger, yielding various degrees of success.
Positive feedback following the strikes confirmed the neutralisation of targets and the destruction of their mobility.
