Plateau State governor declares 24-hour curfew in Mangu
Amid escalating insecurity, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has announced a 24-hour curfew for the Mangu Local Government Area in Plateau State, Nigeria. The decision, effective immediately, comes in response to the worsening security situation within the region.
In an official press statement, the governor’s spokesperson, Gyang Bere, revealed that the imposition of the curfew followed consultations with relevant security agencies. The primary objective is to prevent a breakdown of law and order in Mangu and address the rising security concerns.
Citizens, particularly residents of Mangu, are urged to adhere to the sit-at-home order. Only individuals on essential duties will be permitted to move within the local government area until further notice.
The governor emphasized the necessity of these measures to curb the activities of those determined to create an atmosphere of insecurity, despite the government’s ongoing efforts to counteract terrorist elements.

Expressing concern for the victims and their families, Governor Mutfwang assured that the government is unwavering in its commitment to establishing lasting peace in the state.
