Police arrest Abuja man for staging own kidnapping to defraud brother

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has refuted claims of a kidnapping incident at River Park Estate, Abuja, clarifying that it was a deceptive ploy orchestrated by Nnandi Agu of Games Village.

According to the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, Agu staged his own kidnapping with the intention of defrauding his brother residing within the estate.

Adeh stated in a release, “The FCT Police Command is aware of the news making rounds about an alleged kidnapping incident at River Park estate… nobody was kidnapped in River Park Estate.”

Agu, currently in police custody, will undergo interrogation as the investigation unfolds. Adeh assured the public that further developments would be communicated as the case progresses.

This peculiar incident highlights the lengths to which individuals may go in pursuit of fraudulent schemes.

As law enforcement continues to unravel the motives behind Agu’s elaborate ruse, it serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and thorough investigations to maintain the integrity of security measures within the community.

In a time where criminal tactics evolve, such cases underscore the need for public awareness and cooperation with law enforcement agencies to ensure the swift identification and apprehension of individuals engaging in deceptive activities.
