Sadness as Nigerian student dies one day after arriving UK for Master’s programme

A Nigerian student, Saheed Wahab, has died one day after arriving in the United Kingdom to commence his master’s degree studies.
Wahab, who started his studies at Teesside University on January 15, 2024, unfortunately passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
According to reports, Nigerians in the UK community took to their social media platforms to share a statement conveying the sorrowful news.
According to the statement, Mr Saheed Wahab, who had recently arrived in the United Kingdom from Nigeria to pursue an MSc programme at Teesside University, tragically lost his life just a day after his arrival.
They said the unfortunate incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Teesside.
The community expressed their prayers for his soul, saying, “May Almighty Allah forgive his sins and accept his return.”
In order to coordinate the burial arrangements, the community has been in contact with Wahab’s wife and family members in Nigeria.
They have been granted permission to make arrangements for a funeral service on behalf of the family in the United Kingdom.
Additionally, communication has been established with the coroner to determine the location of his corpse.
As a result of Wahab’s untimely passing, the Janazah (funeral) ceremony is set to take place on “Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Jamia Masjid Al Madina, located at 133a Waterloo Rd, Middlesbrough, TS1 3JB.”
