SCOAN addresses BBC documentary allegations regarding late TB Joshua
The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has issued a response to the BBC documentary on its late founder, Temitope Babatunde Joshua, popularly known as Prophet TB Joshua.
In a statement signed by Dare Adejumo, the Public Affairs Director, SCOAN refuted the claims made in the documentary and criticized the BBC for disseminating unfounded allegations.
The statement highlighted that individuals interviewed in the report had no affiliation with the church, and accused the BBC of deviating from true journalism to engage in fictional narratives and propaganda.
It expressed disappointment in the BBC’s departure from journalistic principles, turning itself into a tool for a hatchet job against the perceived enemy.

The statement read, “BBC has compromised these lofty principles by descending into fictional narratives and propaganda, thus turning itself into a weapon for a hatchet job as gangsters in the gab of journalism with a destructive ulterior motive for personal gains against a perceived enemy.”
Furthermore, SCOAN expressed that the BBC’s attempt to tarnish TB Joshua’s legacy with strange and baseless allegations was insulting to their professional and public intelligence. It pointed out the illogical nature of the BBC’s categorical statement that TB Joshua was involved in abuse for over two decades, questioning the station’s understanding of Nigeria’s legal system.
The statement concluded with a dismissal of the documentary’s credibility, stating, “One thing is very obvious, hundreds of BBC charades cannot rubbish the indelible footprints of TB Joshua’s legacies on earth again.”
The BBC documentary, released on January 8, 2024, alleged various atrocities against the late Bishop, triggering SCOAN’s strong response against what they deemed as “illogical, irritating, incomprehensible, unfathomable, and satanically dubious and malicious.”
