Sex worker takes security guard’s gun as payment, court imposes sentence
In an unusual turn of events, a 27-year-old security guard, Evidence Mangonono, lost his firearm to a sex worker named Choice after he failed to pay for her services.
The incident unfolded near a bank where Mangonono was on duty, leading to a case brought before the Mutoko Magistrates Court, presided over by Magistrate Chiedza Gatsi.
The prosecution, led by Nathan Majuru, revealed that the incident occurred on January 7 after Mangonono consumed sex-enhancing herbs in the company of his colleagues.

Engaging the services of Choice discreetly at the rear of the bank, Mangonono failed to meet the financial obligations associated with her services, prompting her to take possession of his service pistol as collateral.
The gravity of the situation heightened when Mangonono’s employer discovered the absence of his service firearm, leading to a police report.
Realising the severity of the matter, Mangonono compensated Choice to recover the misplaced firearm.
Magistrate Gatsi imposed a one-year prison sentence on Mangonono, with a conditional suspension. Under the terms of the suspension, Mangonono is required to complete 325 hours of community service at Hurungwe Primary School in Murewa, Zimbabwe.
