Tinubu appoints new board, management team for Hajj Commission, Christian Pilgrim Commission

President Bola Tinubu has given approval for the appointment of a new board and management team for the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) and for the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC).

The President urged the new NAHCON management team to ensure a smooth and seamless 2024 Hajj operation. The new appointees will be confirmed by the Nigerian Senate.

Similarly, the President has selected nine qualified Nigerians to serve on the NCPC board, urging the appointees to see the new responsibility as an opportunity to serve the nation and fully commit themselves to this important purpose.

The appointed individuals for the NAHCON Board include:

Jalal Arabi, Chairman (In Office); Aliu Abdulrazaq, Commissioner, Policy, Personnel & Finance; Prince Anofi Elegushi, Commissioner, Operations, and Professor Abubakar A. Yagawal, Commissioner, Planning & Research.

Appointees for zonal representation include Dr Muhammad Umaru Ndagi, North Central; Abba Jato Kala, North East; Sheikh Muhammad Bin Othman, North West; Tajudeen Oladejo Abefe, South West; Aishat Obi Ahmed, South East, and Zainab Musa, South South.

Representatives from religious organisations are Professor Musa Inuwa Fodio, Jama’atul Nasril Islam; Professor Adedimeji Mahfouz Adebola, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

Appointed members of the Christian Pilgrim Commission Board, management team are Colonel Aloche Adole, Chairman; Dr. Stephen Adegbite, Secretary; Omowumi Olubunmi Ogunlola, Member, South West; Clement Alobu Nweke, Member, South East, and Chief Prince Weli Wosu, Member, South South.

Others are Professor Joseph Haruna Mamman, Member, North West; Dr. Toma Hamidu Ragnjiya, Member, North East; Dr. Simon Abu Samson Dolly, Member, North Central, and Bishop Raphael Benjamin Nwankwo, Representative, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

President Tinubu charged the appointees with a commitment to ensuring the efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness of the two religious commissions to the needs of Nigerians.
