In response to the ongoing controversy surrounding the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, President Bola Tinubu has summoned the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to the Presidential Villa. The summon comes amid the award of a consultancy contract amounting to N438 million for the National Social Register to New Planet Projects Ltd, a company in which Tunji-Ojo is identified as a beneficial owner.

The meeting, scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, is expected to address the financial irregularities and mismanagement of public funds that led to the suspension of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Betta Edu, by President Tinubu. Dr. Edu is currently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
