Gov. Uzodimma lauds Yobe gov’t for accommodating Imo indigenes

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma has expressed his gratitude to the people of Yobe and the state government for their warm hospitality towards the people of the South-East region.

Governor Uzodinma conveyed his appreciation during the launch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign for the Yobe East Senatorial Districts by-election in Damaturu on Monday.

He commended the inclusivity of the Yobe government in its activities, highlighting the participation of South-East residents in various government programs, including the pilgrimage to Jerusalem.

The governor offered his thanks on behalf of the South-East residents to the people and government of Yobe for their welcoming and inclusive initiatives.

Highlighting the significance of Governor Mai Mala Buni, who has served as both the national secretary and national chairman of the APC, Governor Uzodinma emphasised that the history of the APC would be incomplete without acknowledging the contributions of Governor Buni.

Dr. Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the APC, extended his congratulations to the Yobe government and its people on the successful launch of the campaign for the East Senatorial Districts.

He acknowledged Yobe state’s commitment to the development of the APC, expressing the party national leadership’s gratitude and recognition for the same.

Governor Mai Mala Buni expressed his gratitude to the APC national chairman, the chairman of the progressive governors’ forum, and other guests for their support and solidarity.

He encouraged the residents of Yobe East Senatorial District to actively participate in the by-election and cautioned them against granting the opposition party an opportunity to represent them at the national level.

Reportedly, Musa Mustapha, the former Finance Commissioner, emerged as the winner of the APC primary for the Yobe East Senatorial by-election scheduled for February.

Mustapha is vying to succeed Senator Gaidam, who held the Yobe East Senatorial District seat before his appointment as the Minister of Police Affairs by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
