A kidnapping syndicate led by one Baba Adamu, a resident of Damaturu, Yobe State, has been apprehended by the Bauchi State Police Command over the abduction of two individuals and collection of N40 million ransom.
Members of the gang, who were interviewed by the Police in a short video obtained by Neptune Prime, confessed to the crime of abducting individuals within Jama’are and Mashema communities of Bauchi State.
Leader of the syndicate, Baba Adamu, admitted to carrying out kidnap operations within the two communities and successfully collecting N40 million from the victims’ families.
The kidnapped victim identified as Sama’ila Magaji commended the police, Bauchi State Governor for his rescue and arrest of the criminals.
He identified the assailants and recounted how they took him from Bauchi town to their hideouts in the bushes. He said the gang follow instructions from their leader, Baba Adamu.
Police displayed rifles and live ammunitions recovered from the criminals.
