We walked from 10 am to 4 am without drinking water – Najeebah’s sisters narrate ordeal in kidnappers’ den
In a heart-wrenching account, five of the six Al-Kadriyar sisters, who were recently released after being kidnapped by bandits in Abuja’s Bwari area, shared the horrifying details of their captivity. Tragically, the eldest sister, Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, lost her life during the ordeal, her body discovered by the gunmen.
The sisters, including Najeebah (500 level, Quantity Surveying), Nadheerah (300 level, Zoology), Aneesah, and Adeebah, were abducted along with their father, Alhaji Mansoor Al-Kadriyar, on January 3. Nabeeha, a 400-level student at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, was laid to rest according to Islamic rites.
Najeebah, who shared her experience, described the relentless walking from 10 am to the next 4 am, enduring restrictions on rest and water intake. She expressed thoughts of giving up but couldn’t bear leaving her sisters behind. Despite paying the ransom, their release was delayed, adding to the psychological strain.

She shared, “Allah really said ‘I’m always listening, my answers might not be the way you like it, but I’m always listening, so be patient.’ I’m soooo in awe, I’m still in awe wallah. Subhannallah, Allah truly is the greatest. Allah’s blessings were there in every way.”
Expressing gratitude for prayers and support, she highlighted the collective fear of molestation during the ordeal and thanked Allah for its absence. The sisters mourned the loss of their uncle, who passed away that night, emphasizing the need for divine mercy and forgiveness.
Nadheerah, in a brief post, expressed gratitude with a simple “Alhamdulillah,” echoing the relief and thanks for their release from the traumatic experience.
