Aisha Achimugu, a prominent businesswoman based in Abuja, recently made headlines with her extravagant 50th birthday celebration held over seven days in the picturesque Caribbean Island of Grenada.
The festivities took place at the exclusive Calivigny Island and the luxurious five-star Silversand Resort, captivating the attention of esteemed guests, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The attendance of Governor Sanwo-Olu at the event sparked public interest, with some questioning his commitments amidst the lavish celebration.
Nonetheless, the state government released images of the governor engaging with Grenada’s Prime Minister Dickson Michelle during the trip, clarifying that his visit also included official engagements beyond the social celebrations.
Indications suggest that the meticulous arrangements for the birthday extravaganza came with a hefty price tag, as Achimugu reportedly spent nearly $1 million to secure the private island and the resort for the occasion.
The fifth day saw the attendees enjoy performances from a local band, a wide array of cocktails, and a retro disco party and on the sixth day, the guests went on an excursion around the island.
The seventh day (January 23) was then capped off with an all-white breakfast and a luxurious dinner that was themed ‘glitz and glam’ before the guests said their goodbye to Grenada.
The cost of accommodation at the Silversands Resort ranged from $1,060 per person per night, while the rental of Calvigny Island amounted to approximately $30,000 per night.
The event featured a lineup of remarkable experiences, including kayaking, swimming, treasure hunts, bonfires, exclusive culinary delights, captivating music performances by international and local artists such as Kenny G, Waje, Flavour, Adekunle Gold, Asake, and Mr Killa.

Who is Aisha Achimugu?
Born in 1974, Achimugu is the Managing Director/CEO of Felak Concept Group, a multifaceted enterprise with interests in engineering, maritime, consultancy, and environmental waste management.
Aisha got married to Sulaiman Akao Achimugu and they have three children.
However, her husband passed away in 2020. Sulaiman was said to have died from COVID-19 complications.
