Yobe State govt approves N35,000 palliatives for workers
The Yobe State Government has approved a wage award of N35,000 for civil servants as a palliative to mitigate the effects of subsidy removal.
The decision was communicated in a memo signed by the acting Head of Service, Hamidu M. Alhaji, and forwarded to the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali.
Governor Mai Mala Buni approved the appointment of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) as chairman of the committee on the N35,000 wage award to civil servants.

The committee, which also includes six members with the Permanent Secretary Establishment serving as its secretary, will assess the financial implications of the wage awards and negotiate with labor unions to determine acceptable rates for both the government and the unions.
