2024 Olympic Qualifier: Nigeria’s Super Falcons defeat Lionesses of Cameroon 1-0 in Abuja

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have defeated the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon 1-0 at the MKO Abiola Stadium Abuja on Monday evening to go through on 1-0 aggregate after a 0-0 draw in Cameroon last week.

Esther Okoronkwo scored the only goal of the match in the 14th minute.

She was at the right place to tap home the ball from the near post after a brilliant slalom run into the box by Jennifer Echegini.

The Falcons will face the winner between South Africa or Tanzania for one of the two tickets in April.

The 2024 Olympics is billed to take place in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 11, 2024, will have only two teams from Africa.

The Nigerian team played at the Olympics in 2000, 2004 and 2008.
