Customs adopts ‘Virtual Reality Tech’ for efficient trade, smuggling control (Pictures)
The Comptroller-General Customs (CGC) Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR has announced plans to utilise Advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality Technology (VRT) to enhance trade and tackle smuggling.
The announcement was made during a 2-day workshop on VRT installation, organised by WCO and Ho Entertainment.
ACG Malanta Yusuf, representing Adeniyi, praised the collaborative efforts of WCO and CCF Korea, underscoring the CGC’s commitment to embracing technological advancements.

ACG Kingsley Egwuh, Commandant of NCCSC, also hailed the collaboration as pivotal and expressed hope that the workshop would enhance customs personnel skills and improve inspection procedures.
Additionally, Professor Baek Sung-Sil, a WCO representative, commended the CGC’s dedication to modernising customs activities through technology and expressed confidence in the positive impact of the training.
